Bell Choir Ministry

WebPictures/handbell.gif

Bell Choir is an addition to the music ministry that was begun in 2006.

The members of Atlantic purchased three (3) octaves of Malmark handbells in memory and honor of loved ones.  The eleven members of the bell choir remember those who purchased bells, chimes, and additional equipment needed with love and appreciation.  The bell choir meets year round at 7 p.m. on Monday nights.  We rehearse for approximately two hours of laughter, music, and just plain joy of playing together.  There are eleven members of the choir covering the three octaves.

Special concerts are held several times each year.  The dates of these concerts are featured on the calendar.

The Atlantic Bell Choir is pleading for HELP!

Our most valued, summer ringer, Marion Coldwell, will be returning to her winter home and bell choir after we play on the 5th Sunday, September 30.  When this happens we will be missing a player EVERY rehearsal!   Playing bells is a talent that can be developed . . .it is one that grabs your soul after you begin and becomes a way for you to communicate with your Lord through his music.  Ask any member of the choir: Paul Wall, Nancy Britton, Lynn Burton, Nancy Radle, Charlotte Nash , Donna Holdren, Mary Price, Charlotte Montgomery, Linda Jones, and Ethel Werner what our rehearsals are like - we pray, we play, and we laugh (at each other and with each other)!  My prayer and plea is that the bell choir will not be disbanded for the lack of one player!   (Medical science has proven that music and learning a new skill is good for your brain!)  Please, ask the Lord if this message is for you!  If you feel the Lord nudging you to play . . .meet us in the Fellowship Hall for rehearsal on Monday night at7:00 p.m.  Start playing to his glory NOW!    With a song in my heart and a plea on my lips . . .HELP THE BELL CHOIR CONTINUE TO PLAY!
