ATLANTIC UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
“I now remind you to stir into flame
the gift of
God which is within you.”
II Timothy 1:6
"Simply
Loving"*
O, mighty God, today we open the windows of our hearts to You.
Fill us with your light so that we might
be windows of hope for others.
Awesome God, thank you for the window Jesus opened to the world,
enabling
us to see more clearly the hurts and needs of our sisters and brothers.
May we smile at all those we meet today,
offering them a glimpse of your joy through our windows.
We praise you for opening your window to us everyday
and in every way. Amen.
*This is the prayer that appears on this year's Prayer Card in the A Call
to Prayer and
Self-Denial packet. United Methodist Women members
may make copies
of this prayer for use in their units.
Atlantic
United Methodist Women (UMW) is a group of women organized for mission. Our stated Purpose is: “The
organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom
as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through
participation in the global ministries of the church.” UMW has existed under many different
names since 1869 and we now share in a community of over one million women across the country and all over the world who are
organized for mission. We are challenged to grow spiritually, intellectually and personally.
We nurture and encourage one another in our spiritual growth and personal development.
The United Methodist Women
of Atlantic United Methodist Church would like to invite all women in our community to join us for the warm, enlightening
and educational programs offered by our UMW. The Atlantic UMW is open to both members and non-members of the church.
Participation in this group of committed women is a unique opportunity, and we would love to have you join us !
